The Best iPod Touch Tips
By Faye Herl
Once you have an iPod Touch, you maneuver you way around the iPod by picking up little tips and tricks along the way. Whether you buy an iPod touch 8gb or iPod Touch 2nd generation 16 gb, sooner or later you find shortcuts to get to where you want to be on the device. If you haven't stumbled across these already, here are the best iPod Touch tricks at this point:
1. Charge your iPod Touch from anything that has a powered USB port like a printer or computer. You don't absolutely have to have iTunes installed to provide power.
2. To get the music controls, double click the home button no matter what app is running- with or without the screen on.
3. To save the battery power, turn off SSH-using the Services from Installer and WiFi when not in use.
4. If you are in Safari and scrolling a long page, tap the bar that has the time and battery. It will automatically scroll up to the top of the page and show the address bar.
5. Also to save battery power, make sure to completely close apps when you are done. Do this by pressing and holding the home button for about 5 seconds. This is a big battery saver if you run many different apps all the time.
6. If you hold down letters on the keyboard you will get the symbols/accents associated with those letters. Once its up, just slide your finger over the symbol you want.
7. To get the delete button when your in the Mail inbox, just slide your finger from left to right across the message. This also works in the list view of vid apps.
8. To keep your screen clean go to your local pharmacy and pick up an eyeglass cleaning cloth. Works great and its cheap.
9. To zoom in, double tap in Safari. Also works if you put your thumb and index finger on the screen and pinch in and out in Pictures and Safari .
10. If you are watching a vid, bring up the onscreen control by tapping. Press done and your spot will be saved to return later.
